Faith vs. Fear

How do these dynamics unfold in today’s Corporate America?

Today I’m writing about a topic that seems to be on everyone’s mind. Leaders today refuse to accept that they are out of touch with their front-line worker. My definition of the front-line work force is the people that get the work done that keeps the lights on and makes the profit for a company to succeed. My definition of today’s leaders are individuals making decisions in a vacuum to accomplish what they want, without first checking in with how it will affect their front-line workers. This last part is amazing to me. Instead of taking a moment to confirm how their decisions will have the proper alignment in the company, they would rather make the decision to do what they want and have the backlash of negativity. This backlash is most construed as the message of: “If you don’t like it, leave.”  This is where the fear is coming from. They think the front-line worker is so scared that they will just put their head down and take it. And of course, they’re right. The reality is this is Corporate America across the board; the fear is palpable. Here’s an idea: take the negative energy of fear and shift it into an energy of faith fueled by passion and commitment. Challenge yourself to become an incredibly valuable person and transform yourself by having the faith in yourself to truly become a subject matter expert that commands trust and respect with great earning potential. Immediately stop that fear, and put all that wasted energy into transforming yourself into your true potential. Here are a few steps to take to become filled with faith and gratitude for yourself:

  • Stop going to work with the mindset of “I’m just here to earn a paycheck.” Go to work to release your potential! That means you have spent the time going inside yourself to know why you’re here and accept responsibility for your actions. Your age doesn’t matter, and you must have faith in yourself to find your calling. It comes down to…how bad you want it?
  • Have a strong belief that the company you work for will allow you to design a workflow that aligns with your behavioral strengths. You need conviction and confidence in yourself so that this can be done. It’s there, you just must look for it. Make the invisible visible!
  • Start now and make a list of behavioral habits you need to master to transform yourself into the person you were meant to be. This isn’t rocket science ~ If you want to be a doctor, you are going to have to go to school and get your medical degree. If your calling is to help people reach their full potential, you’re going to need leadership, management, coaching, training, and mentoring skills.
  • Find a mentor who is living the life you want and ask them (if possible) how they did it or research how they were able to create it for themselves. You will see that during their whole journey they were tested with severe negativity and obstacles. They had faith in themselves, believing that they were not alone, and stayed open to all the teaching their life gave them to support their success.
  • Truly search for opportunities at work that will force you to create those few habits you will need to catapult you into your best self.  Find online courses, read the books, research your desired topic, surround yourself with growth minded individuals to facilitate your organic growth and development. It’s key to put a plan together and write it out, so that you can hold yourself accountable. Actively review your plan and make the PSAs (Proactive Strategic Adjustments) you need to stay ahead and keep moving the needle.
  • Remember, no one is coming to do any of this for you. Even those with the strongest willpower won’t be able to finish the race if they don’t have the belief in self. Faith is your answer to make your life the one you want.

The corporation/Industry you work for has been acting the same year over year. The train follows its established route, and the cycle perpetuates without change. Your true happiness is never based on outside world events. It is always an inside outside game. Here are a few other ways to have faith vs. fear.

  • Meister Eckhart, a 14th century mystic said, “The outward work can never be small if the inward one is great, and the outward work can never be great or good if the inward is small or of little worth.”
  • Hermann Hesse, a Nobel Prize winner, shared this quote in the 1930s, “Most people are like a falling leaf that drifts and turns in the air, flutters, and falls to the ground. But a few others are like stars which travel one defined path: no wind reaches them; they have within themselves their guide and path.”

Remember, fear is such a toxic energy that is destroying your life. here are a few facts about the energy of fear and how it relates to yourself.

  • Fear: It pummels your immune system, therefore weakens your ability to be healthy.
  • Fear: It shuts down your imagination, creativity, and innovation.
  • Fear: It encourages poor decision making which puts you in harm’s way.
  • Fear: It makes you a victim and not a hero to the world around you.

Faith is the energy that pulls to you all the resources you need from the universe to live a successful life. Some facts about faith are as follows:

  • Faith: It strengthens your immune system
  • Faith: It allows you to make the invisible opportunities visible
  • Faith: It creates IRSA (Ideas, Recommendations, Solutions, and Actions) that is tied to your purpose.
  • Faith: It provides you with endless energy to release your true potential.
  • Faith: It lifts your life with courage, truth, reason, acceptance, joy, love, and peace.

In conclusion, it’s essential for all of us to embody the maturity to fully embrace the present moment of NOW. This entails making the right choices by transforming fear into faith. I trust this information will support you on your wonderful journey of your life. As always reach out and let me know your thoughts.
