What My Clients Say
The Story of How Mark David Got His Start: A Journey of Transformation and Purpose
In September of 1987, I took a leap of faith. I founded The Mark David Corporation with a simple yet profound internal message: "Mark, your purpose on this planet is to help people—whether individuals, companies, organizations, or teams." At the time, I didn’t have all the answers, and I certainly didn’t know exactly where my journey would lead. What I did know was that I had accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge, and I believed it could make a real difference in the lives of others.
Looking back on my 57 years of learning, growth, and evolution, I now realize that my path wasn’t always clear, but every step, every challenge, and every setback led me to this moment. Today, I can confidently share the "how" of achieving consistent success—not just in your career, but in your life, your family, and your well-being.
I often find myself thinking: If I only knew then what I know now. In my 20s, 30s, 40s, and even 50s, I didn’t have the clarity I now possess. My journey started with uncertainty, and that uncertainty eventually became my greatest teacher.
In my early 20s, I left New York behind. I had no concrete plan, no set vision for my future—I just knew that my life wasn’t in New York anymore. I needed a fresh start. When I landed in Northern California, it felt like I had stepped onto another planet. Everything was new, different, and, quite frankly, overwhelming. But there was something deeply perfect about it. It was the reset I needed.
Mark Twain once said, “When you find a place you want to vacation all year, live there.” I had found my place. The stars aligned in ways I couldn’t have imagined. In California, I met my incredible wife, and her family embraced me like their own. Her mother became my second mother, a guiding light in my life. It was through her that I discovered Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich—a book that would change everything for me.
That book opened my eyes to the power of learning and the importance of cultivating a mindset for success. For the first time, I realized that the answers I was searching for were already out there—hidden within the pages of the books written by those who had walked this path before me. So, I did what any curious soul would do: I read, I absorbed, I implemented. I followed their advice to the letter, mastering their teachings until they became ingrained in me.
Through that process, I didn’t just absorb knowledge—I transformed it into wisdom. I took the principles I learned and adapted them into my own system. I created something unique, something that could help others build lives and careers founded on purpose, clarity, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
Now, after 37 years of refining my systems and strategies, I’ve built leadership, coaching, and life systems that work. At my age today, I can look back and say with certainty: It was all worth it.
When I left New York all those years ago, I had no idea who I was or where my life would take me. I didn’t know what true happiness felt like, or how to build a life of purpose. But now, I know that true happiness isn’t about living a life of highs and lows, like a yo-yo. It’s about creating a life where you can make consistent, proactive adjustments—mentally, emotionally, spritually, and physically—to stay aligned with your vision, regardless of the circumstances.
All the pain, the failures, the obstacles I faced along the way were not setbacks—they were stepping stones. They were the necessary trials that helped me learn, grow, and evolve into the person I am today. And today, I can say with complete gratitude: I’m playing with house money.
My mission now is to give back. I want to provide people with the systems and strategies they need to create the life they want. And the feedback I receive from my clients, the testimonials I hear, confirm what I already know: these systems work.
As the saying goes, “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” I am honored to be that teacher for those who are ready to step into their own greatness.
The journey from uncertainty to clarity hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth every moment. And if I can help others achieve the same transformation, then I know I’m living my purpose.
